Coffee & Drinks Bar – A great idea for a small kitchen

Coffee & Drinks Bar

Coffee & Drinks Bar

I was visiting a friend in California for the last week.  While she has a small kitchen, she was able to fit in a coffee and drinks bar that really makes sense.   She has a bar sink and counter space tucked away in a small alcove.  With space for a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and wine glasses, the alcove is also close to the pantry (on right) wine cooler (not shown) and refrigerator (next to the ovens).  The space is the perfect size for the ancillary activities that can otherwise get in the cook’s way.  I was able to make coffee, heat-up leftovers, or make a sandwich without being in the way.  She also says it works perfectly when they’re entertaining.  All-in-all a great way to make a small kitchen work better.
