Our client had been
struggling for 2 years with their open design house--
they just couldn't make it cozy for family
meals. They were so frustrated
that they had even talked with a
contractor about remodeling but weren't ready to
spend the $200,000 estimated price-tag.
Solution:
For about $750 -- plus the cost of a table and
chairs, the family is now very comfortable with
their open floor plan arrangement.
To supplement their dining room, they
have a family-friendly round table along along
side a
comfortable sitting area right next the
kitchen.
We came up with a solution after only an hour of
talking about their frustrations and what they
had already tried. We arranged to have
the new arrangement
mocked-up so they could try it out before they
bought new furniture. Two weeks convinced
them it would work!
Issue:
Our client had spent hundreds of dollars on
plumbers trying to get rid of a smell in the
master bath. None had been able to solve
the problem.
Solution:
It turns out that the problem was coming
from an odor in the attic -- not from the
plumbing. Our client assumed it was a
plumbing issue because the smell was in the
bath; the plumbers could only focus on their
specialty. We brought in someone who could
diagnose the problem and then brought in the
right specialist for the job.
Issue:
Our client wanted to add a bath to their
first floor and wanted to do a lot of the work
themselves. But they were getting bogged
down because they didn't know the right order of
the tasks and were having trouble finding the
right tradesmen.
Solution:
We reviewed their ideas and suggested some
improvements that would both look better and
function better. We developed a plan and
schedule (the order of tasks). We helped
them identify which tasks they could handle and
which they should get a professional to handle.
We identified the right professional for each
job. We got their permit for them and also
sourced some specialty tile and fixtures that
they couldn't get at local stores. They
were able to do the work at their own pace, save
thousands of dollars, and end up with a custom
bath.
